Information For Authors

Islamic Studies Review (ISR), published twice a year since 2022 by Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII), is a peer-reviewed journal. For the journal’s areas of interest, please consult the Focus and Scope.

Manuscripts must be original, previously unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal. All submissions undergo initial editorial screening. Research articles that pass this stage undergo double-anonymous peer review by at least two independent reviewers. Manuscripts that do not meet the submission requirements may be returned for correction before scholarly assessment begins.

Manuscripts must be written in English. Research articles should contain 8,000–10,000 words, including the main text, tables, figures, notes, references, and appendices. They must include a single-paragraph abstract of 200–300 words and four to six keywords. Review essays and book reviews follow the separate requirements specified in the Author Guidelines.

Citations and references must follow APA, 7th edition, using the author-date system. Explanatory footnotes may be used sparingly but must not replace in-text citations. Arabic, Persian, and Ottoman Turkish transliteration should follow the IJMES system. Other languages should follow their established scholarly conventions consistently.
