Muslim Politics Review’s AI Policy for Authors

Muslim Politics Review (MPR) requires that manuscript authors must disclose the use of AI tools for work on any element of a submitted manuscript. AI can be used for copy-editing purposes, including grammar correction and formatting adjustment. The declaration can be included in the method or acknowledgement section. AI cannot be used for data analysis and data interpretation. Authors must not use the AI tools to write the manuscript or substantial elements of the manuscript, such as the literature review. MPR editors reserve the right to reject articles that violate AI-editorial policy.

The following standard operating operator will be implemented to verify whether manuscripts submitted to MPR have adhered to MPR’s AI Policy for Authors:

  1. MPR’s editorial team will check whether the authors have explicitly declared the use of AI tools in their manuscripts submitted to MPR.
  2. The editorial team will assess whether the use of AI tools has complied with the MPR’s policy, for example, AI tools are used only for grammar corrections.
  3. If there is doubt about whether the authors have used the AI tools improperly, the editorial team reserve the rights to request additional documents to the authors, for example, AI usage logs or raw data, to ensure that the authors’ use of AI has met MPR’s AI Policy for Authors.
